Will Greenwood is a former England rugby star, British & Irish Lion, and Rugby World Cup winner, renowned for his intelligence on the pitch and leadership in high-pressure moments. As the son of former England captain and head coach Dick Greenwood, Will was immersed in rugby from an early age, spending part of his childhood in Italy, where his father played and coached in Rome.

After starting his career in amateur rugby, Will joined Harlequins, training in the evenings while working in the City. His talent soon earned him a place in the England ‘A’ squad, touring Australia. In 1996, he turned professional with Leicester Tigers, playing a key role in their Pilkington Cup triumph and European Cup final appearance. That same year, he was selected for the 1997 British & Irish Lions tour to South Africa, where the Lions defeated the reigning world champions. However, he made headlines after a serious collision left him unconscious, having swallowed his tongue and stopped breathing for several minutes.
Will made his full England debut in 1997 and was selected for the 1999 Rugby World Cup, playing an important role despite England’s exit to South Africa. Returning to Harlequins in 2000, he helped them reach the Tetley’s Bitter Cup final and win the European Shield.
The pinnacle of Will’s career came in 2003, when he was instrumental in England’s historic Rugby World Cup victory. Today, he is a highly sought-after rugby speaker, known for his engaging storytelling, insights on teamwork, leadership, and resilience, and ability to inspire any audience.
