Made his first-class debut for Somerset in 1975 and went on to play for the county for 14 years.
Vic Marks enjoyed a distinguished cricketing career, playing in over 340 First-Class matches. He claimed more than 850 wickets and scored over 12,000 runs, achieving a solid batting average of 30.29. In 1980, Vic made his England ODI debut against the West Indies, followed by his Test debut in 1982 against Pakistan.

Although he played just six Test matches, Vic was a key member of England’s ODI squad for several years. He made 34 appearances, taking 44 wickets at an impressive bowling average of 25.79.
Following his retirement from professional cricket, Vic transitioned into journalism and broadcasting. He is now a well-known summariser on BBC Radio’s Test Match Special and a respected writer for The Observer newspaper.
