England goalkeeping legend Peter Shilton holds the record for the most international caps for England and began his illustrious career at Leicester City, making his debut at the age of 16 – stepping into the legendary shoes of Gordon Banks.

Over his remarkable 30-year career, Shilton played for 11 different English league clubs, amassing over 1,000 League appearances.

In 1977, he joined the newly promoted Nottingham Forest, where he played a pivotal role in the team’s incredible success. Forest won the league title in their first season back in the top flight, and even greater triumph followed with two successive European Cup victories.

In his record-breaking 125 international appearances for England, Shilton helped secure 66 wins. He continued playing at the highest level, representing England in the 1990 World Cup at the age of 40.
