Graeme’s prowess extended to One Day Internationals, with his top score of 81 not out coming against Pakistan during the 1983 World Cup. Remarkably, he remains the only batsman to score two complete centuries in a single match while using a runner.
A memorable feat came in 1982 when playing for Lancashire against Warwickshire at Southport. Despite straining his thigh during the fielding innings, Graeme displayed incredible resilience. After batting without a runner to score 26 not out at stumps, he went on to score a rapid 100 before lunch on the second day, with David Lloyd running for him.
In the second innings, with Ian Folley acting as his runner, Graeme showcased his exceptional form once again, scoring an unbeaten 128 on the third day. This extraordinary performance remains one of the most iconic moments in his illustrious career.
