Renowned for his exceptional right-handed batting, he was celebrated for his elegant stroke play, particularly through extra cover and midwicket. A highly accomplished batsman across all formats of the game, he achieved the remarkable feat of scoring over 100 centuries in first-class cricket. Representing England, he played in 50 Test matches and 18 One-Day Internationals, leaving an indelible mark on the sport.

Dennis Amiss MBE
After retiring as a player in 1987, he transitioned into cricket administration, serving Warwickshire with distinction. He began as Chairman of the Cricket Committee and later succeeded David Heath as Chief Executive, holding the position from 1994 until 2005.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions to cricket, he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Birmingham in 2007.
