David Gower OBE
Had an 18 year playing career in professional county cricket with Leicestershire and Hampshire.
A left-handed batsman with a relaxed style, David was one of the top players of his generation. Over the course of his career, he played in more than 400 first-class matches, amassing over 26,000 runs. David made his Test debut for England in 1978 against Pakistan, going on to play in 117 Test matches and score over 8,000 runs. He also captained his country in 32 Test matches.

Since retiring from professional cricket, David has enjoyed a successful career as a cricket broadcaster and television personality. He was a team captain on the popular BBC comedy sports quiz They Think It’s All Over and presented four series of the BBC 2 cricket magazine show Gower’s Cricket Monthly. During this time, he also became one of the BBC’s leading cricket commentators.
David is currently the main presenter of international cricket coverage for Sky Sports, bringing his wealth of experience and insight to a new generation of cricket fans.
