Charles Dagnall made a notable impact in first-class cricket during his time with Warwickshire. He is fondly remembered for a dramatic last-wicket partnership of 37 runs in 13 overs with Mohammed Sheikh, which clinched a victory against Worcestershire in the 2001 Benson & Hedges Cup.

At the end of the 2001 season, Charles joined Leicestershire, where he became a key player in their success, including the team’s victory in the 2004 Twenty20 Cup. One of his standout performances came in a group stage match against Nottinghamshire, where he delivered an impressive 4-22, securing a thrilling 40-run win. Unfortunately, recurring injuries forced Charles to retire in 2005 at the young age of 28.
With a passion for broadcasting, Charles transitioned seamlessly into the media world following his cricketing career. He has covered some of sport’s most prestigious events, including the Cricket World Cup and five Premiership rugby finals. Charles is now a respected broadcaster and an engaging after-dinner speaker, sharing stories from both his playing days and his experiences behind the microphone.
