More about

Alan Kennedy

Alan established himself as a first-choice player in Liverpool’s solid backline and was known for his commitment, skill, and determination. Despite facing injury and a dip in form before the 1981 European Cup Final, Alan fought his way back into the starting XI and repaid the faith shown in him by scoring the only goal in the final against Real Madrid.

His European heroics continued in 1984 when he once again scored the decisive winning goal in the European Cup Final, securing another major trophy for Liverpool.

Although Alan’s talent was evident throughout his career, his international recognition came later than expected. With just two caps for England, his international appearances did not fully reflect his ability and contribution to Liverpool’s success.
