Gladstone Small

Fast bowler who played for Warwickshire and was a key figure in their all-conquering year in 1994.

Gladstone Small represented England in 17 Test matches and 53 One Day Internationals, with his standout moment coming in the 1986-87 Ashes series. As a last-minute replacement, he delivered a stunning performance that helped England retain the Ashes. In front of a packed Boxing Day crowd of 58,000 at the MCG, Gladstone took an impressive 5 for 48, contributing to Australia’s dismissal for just 141 runs. England triumphed in the match, and Gladstone was rightly named Man of the Match for his remarkable efforts.
