More about

Mark Ramprakash MBE

Regarded as one of the most talented batsmen in English cricket history, Mark is also one of the most prolific players in domestic cricket. However, his international career remains something of a mystery, as many wonder why he was unable to replicate his remarkable domestic form on the international stage. Throughout his career, Mark played for Middlesex CCC and Surrey CCC in London, where he made a significant impact.

Mark retired in 2012 with an impressive 114 First-Class centuries to his name, having scored nearly 35,000 runs at an outstanding average of nearly 55. In recognition of his services to cricket, he was awarded an MBE in the 2013 New Year’s Honours List. Following his retirement, he was appointed as the batting coach for Middlesex CCC, beginning a successful post-playing career as a mentor and coach.

In the winter of 2006-07, Mark captivated millions when he participated in and won Strictly Come Dancing, earning 12 million votes from fans across the country.
