After retiring from professional cricket in 1993, Simon pursued a successful career in writing and journalism. Additionally, Simon has become a prominent voice in cricket commentary, featuring on BBC Radio’s Test Match Special, serving as the Analyst for Channel 4’s cricket coverage, and currently appearing on Channel 5’s evening highlights programme.

An accomplished author, Simon has penned several popular books, including the autobiographical A Lot of Hard Yakka, Yakking Around the World, Jargonbusting, and Morning Everyone: An Ashes Odyssey.
