Geoff Cook transitioned to Durham in the latter part of his playing career, serving as both player and captain until 1995. After retiring as a player, he took on the role of running the county’s youth academy, nurturing future cricketing talent. In 2007, Geoff was appointed Durham’s first-team coach, a role in which he achieved remarkable success.

Under Geoff’s leadership, Durham secured their first major trophy at Lord’s in 2007. This triumph was followed by consecutive County Championship victories in 2008 and 2009, solidifying Durham’s status as one of the strongest teams in English cricket.
Geoff has also served as both Chairman and Secretary of the Professional Cricketers’ Association (PCA), further demonstrating his dedication to the development and support of professional players.
Today, Geoff remains actively involved with Durham County Cricket Club and shares his wealth of cricketing knowledge and experiences as a sought-after speaker on the after-dinner circuit.
