Gary Stevens

Former Brighton, Tottenham Hotspur and England International footballer.

Gary has always demonstrated a strong interest and natural aptitude for coaching. In 1975, while still at school, he attended his first football coaching course. Throughout his playing career, his passion for coaching led him to actively pursue coaching qualifications alongside his professional responsibilities, working closely with club coaches on a daily basis.

More about

Gary Stevens

During the 1980s, Gary played for both Brighton and Tottenham Hotspur, achieving significant success with Spurs. He played in FA Cup finals for Tottenham and helped the club secure the 1984 UEFA Cup title. Additionally, he earned international caps for England and was selected for the 1986 World Cup squad, making two substitute appearances during the tournament.

After leaving Spurs for Portsmouth in 1990, persistent injuries forced his early retirement in 1992. He never fully recovered from a knee injury sustained three years earlier due to a challenge from Vinnie Jones.

Following his retirement, Gary worked as a presenter for Sky Sports. He now focuses on a coaching role but remains active on the after-dinner circuit whenever his schedule allows.
